La Perla Restaurant & Bar is a new addition to the Beaufort dining arena, and this unique eatery offers a breath of fresh Caribbean air to the Crystal Coast. Opened in 2018, La Perla’s dishes have a decidedly global influence, mixing traditional flavors and dishes from all the islands in the Caribbean. As a result, Spanish, French, African, Native Taino Indian and Southeastern Asian aesthetics trickle into the eclectic fare, allowing patrons to sample delicacies like curried pork tenderloin, West Indian lamb curry, and Langosta – a sugarcane-skewered lobster tail with buttered rum sauce.

The unique cuisine is all envisioned and overseen by chef / owner Kevin Davis, who has been honing his skills for more than 20 years. Working at impressive locales like Zach Sizer of Zachos Tacos in Puerto Rico, and at Eric Ripart’s Le Bernadin, in New York City, his menu is chock-full of dishes that can’t be found anywhere else in coastal NC.

From conch fritters and ceviche to fresh fish dishes and octopus salad, La Perla is the destination of choice for perfect beach cuisine that’s miles away from the traditional. The restaurant is found just off the beaten path on North 20th Street, and features regular specials that are dependent on fresh available ingredients.
