Our top Vacation rental tips:

Getting the best value:

  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the perfect rental home:

  • Select vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Great rates at Park Place in the AB Circle! Close to beach and pet friendly! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
