About this Property

Flexible and non-week units accepted. We optimized the home for a low-anxiety family or extended family holiday, with plenty of home preparing. We want your family to have a great holiday on Emerald Isle and come back next year.

Before you rent please understand that this is not a hotel room. This is a duplex home exposed to wind, rain, sand, visitors who actively use the kitchen, families that go back and forth to the beach, and a neighboring visiting family. We do our most gorgeous, but the sliders won't be crystal clear and we do not claim the home is polished to a deep shine. We are not sloppy, but if you expect an immaculate and minimally used kitchen in a pristine home, please look elsewhere. We include an abundance of information and photos so your expectations can match your experience.

If you have more than 4 adults or they are unrelated, please explain why in your renting request.

Our calming beach home is 100 yards away from access to a peaceful beach. Remodeled 4 bed/3 baths in ideal shape. Unwind and savor full decks on both floors with sea sounds and vistas. Walkable grocery, eateries, shopping & mini-golf. We want to know if something interferes with your savoring your stay. House, refrigerator, and cabinet is outfitted with preparing essentials, and linens are PROVIDED!!

Absolutely No Smoking or family dogs and cats. We request that visitors do not smoke near the home including the decks because some smoke smell inevitably finds its way into the home and we pride ourselves on including a "smoke-complimentary" experience as much as possible. If you smoke outdoor please try not to disturb renters on the other side of the duplex.

Check-in at 4 pm or after and check-out at 10 am on departure day.
The middle floor has a huge open kitchen and dining area with seating for eight. Two sliding doors to access the porch with table and chairs. One bedroom with 2 twins, and a shared downstairs bathroom. The living area has High-speed internet (30 Down/5 up) and all TVs have Roku attached.

The top floor has 2 queen bedrooms with access to the outdoor space and 1 shared bathroom. The master bedroom has a king bed with a private bath.

Covered parking for 2 cars and parking pad, plus a enormous driveway with generous room for cars. This is the blue door side of the duplex.

Washer/dryer and propane grille available.

There is a brief walk to the uncrowded Emerald Isle beach. This little group of homes has its own public entrance to the beach with NO car parking. Folks cannot park on our road so the only people that use this access are on this street or close by. The home is at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac. There is essentially no traffic on our street or in front of the home. Most of the close by homes are units but we haven't noticed a lot of noise or seen any big events. Our co-owner of the duplex also has a no smoking, no dogs and cats policy.

Often there is a marvelous tidal pool during low tide. As with any beach (especially one with sandbars and without lifeguards), know what to do in terms of rip tides. On Emerald Isle, we don't get the monster waves you see on the outer banks, but everybody should know about rip tides. We have life jackets for anyone who isn't a great swimmer.

Emerald Isle is bicycle-friendly with bicycle paths along the major roads and straighforward bicycle rental if you cannot bring your own. Bicycle or walk to the Emerald Plantation Shopping or Food Lion each morning to pick up a coffee or a food item. It's less than a mile away. You can walk effortlessly to the pier via the beach (about a mile away). Emerald Isle Woods Park is also about a mile away and has a pretty view of the sound. Walking distance to the water park, cinema, shopping, mini-golf, and eateries. Canoe units and surf shop are also walking distance.

Beach:
Access: On your right, there is public beach access. In the morning and evening, the beach isn't that busy. To get to the beach, turn right out of the home and walk to the end of the street.
Fishing: The Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier is a 1.6-mile drive or a 1-mile walk on the beach to the east. Surf fishing is fashionable especially when the beaches are peaceful.
Equipment: The home has beach chairs and the usual collection of "floaty things" as the children call them. There are two beach carts.

Check-in/check-out: Standard Check-In time is 4 pm and check-out time is 10 am. These hours may be flexible depending on availability. If the home is cleaned and no one is in the home, we'll tell you and you can potentially check-in as early as you like on that day.

Towels: Visitors should bring their own bath and beach towels. There isn't time to turn around the home for the next guest and tidy towels.

Parking: There is covered space for two cars (one behind the other). There is also a parking pad to the right where you can put another car.

Food in the House: We've tried to stock the kitchen with necessary silverware and cookware. If anything is missing, please tell us so we can address the problem. You will also find standard spices, common items (oil), and some standard refrigerator stuff. Thus you will find some items in the refrigerator. These items are left because when we have rented, we have been frustrated that preparing is hard without them and we end up doing additional runs to the grocery store. Please feel complimentary to use anything you find. If you have food you don't want to bring home and won't spoil in the next few weeks, feel complimentary to leave it.

Next Door: Keep in mind that we cannot control the behavior of visitors who rent the other half of the duplex - and they may smoke on their decks. Please tell us if their behavior (smoking or otherwise) interferes with your relishing your stay. Please do not park on their side (the West side) of the building

Food/Grocery:
Food Lion in the close by (0.6 miles, an 11-min. walk) Emerald Plantation Shopping Center. The prices are reasonable. Note that they are swamped on Saturday when new people arrive. And all those folks can quickly empty the new veggies and fruit. To get to Emerald Plantation Shopping, drive out to the main road, turn right and it is about half a mile down on the left.
Lowes Foods (3.2 miles, 11 min drive) - A trip across the bridge; usually not necessary. They will shop for you and do delivery, however.

Newcomers are oftentimes surprised at the range and wide selection of short-term vacation rentals available in the Beaufort, NC area. With such a wide selection, clients are sure to select a vacation home that fits their wishes and spending plan.

Virtually all vacation rentals in Beaufort, NC are privately operated and many are represented by established local rental management agencies. Vacation home management companies leverage scale, technology and expertise to provide easy operational administration on behalf of the owner..

Seasoned Beaufort, NC vacationers have identified several tips and tricks over the years with regards to renting vacation homes, however most novices will be delighted to realize that many of these "tips" are in plain sight, if you understand where to search.

Searching for and reserving the perfect rental:

Do you think "Ocean View, EASY beach access, close to shopping!" is the perfect rental for your upcoming getaway? Look over this guide to make sure it fits your preferences.

The Sooner, The Better

Beaufort, NC vacation homes book months (and up to a year) in advance. Reserving your rental 6-12 months in advance is highly recommended, whenever possible. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years are excellent times to find and reserve your rental home..

Find your Area and Decide Dates

Start by picking which specific area of Beaufort, NC you prefer to explore, and the determine trip dates.

Bedrooms and Bed Sizes Matter

How many relatives are planning to share your vacation? Be mindful that most homes advertise maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in the home's living room. It is important to determine what is acceptable for the family. Specific descriptions of bedrooms and beds are usually accessible on the internet. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book.

Decide on Your Budget

Make sure "Ocean View, EASY beach access, close to shopping!" satisfies your price range *during your desired week*. If several groups or relatives are sharing the cost, make sure that everybody knows their obligations and has agreed to a maximum they are prepared to chip in. A single individual in your company will have to be responsible for gathering payments and agreeing to responsibility for the whole rental fee at time of booking.

Make a List of "Preferences" and "Necessities"

What amenities is your family interested in? Do you only want a rental with a swimming pool, hot tub or volleyball court? Will the property need to be beachfront, downtown, or in close proximity to shopping? Are linens included with the rental agreement, or will you need to provide your own? Create a list of priority conveniences to help filter your search.

Accessability

Grandpa and Grandma will appreciate you for not renting a stairs-access-only property on the Third floor. If wheel chair entry, elevators, pool lifts or other specialized equipment is required, include that into your search. Almost all vacation rental postings will include a list of amenities.

Your Dog Deserves a Vacation, Too

Make sure you include your pets. While quite a few vacation homes allow pets, rules and charges vary per property. Study your contract thoroughly! Extra fees may apply when animals are included. When in doubt, ask the property owner and get it in writing.

Searching the Internet

When the area, time and guests are decided, search multiple sources to get the best rental home selection. In addition to Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we advise searching Google for "Beaufort, NC local rental homes" for local vacation home management companies. In addition to offering exclusive rental properties, local companies provide you with fantastic service..

Negotiate

When you have found the rentalhome of your dreams, double check to make sure your vacation dates are available.

Some rental home owners will negotiate prices, and some won't. If they are unwilling to budge on a highly-desirable stay, try getting an extra night. Off-peak weeks will probably be negotiable more often than peak-season..

Read the Contract

Read the entire agreement and be sure you understand who is responsible for:

  • Utilities
  • Internet Connectivity
  • Long Distance Phone Service
  • Pool and hot tub heating
  • Cable and pay-per-view TV
  • Cleaning services and housekeeping
  • Trash Pickup (and which day?)
  • Maintenance (get a phone number)
  • Check in & Check Out Key Exchange
  • Parking Space

Get a total that includes taxes, animal and other additional fees.

Cancellation Policies

Ensure that you understand the cancellation policy before booking. Many vacation property contracts include an option for trip insurance. Trip insurance defends the renter against emergencies and weather events, It gives you relief should disaster strike.

Book It

When everything looks right, it's finally time to sign on the dotted line. You will likely be required to submit a security deposit at time of reservation.

Where to Get Help

Be sure you get the manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the contact's details in your smart phone and wallet.

Good job on booking your rental! You're on the way to a phenomenal vacation!

During your Stay

  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any trouble spots of the rental. We also recommend immediately calling the rental home manager with a report of any damages, together with your request for any required fixes. This can prevent conflicts during checkout.
  • When there's any ambiguity about parking, rules of the property, property access, pool operation, etc... we suggest you ask the rental manager promptly. A phone call can save hours of difficulties.
  • Please remember to respect your nearby neighbors. More often than not, adjacent properties are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and vehicle parking restrictions can make a trip a lot more relaxing.
  • Ask a local. Locals can often point you in the right direction.
  • Enjoy your stay! Make certain to protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the vacation home secured when you are away, exactly like you would in your own home.

Leaving Paradise

  • Make certain you've packed everything. Inspect drawers, bath cabinets and closets.
  • Make sure to walk through the rental one final time and check for damage. If it is possible, do this walk-out assessment with the property owner present. If the property owner is not available, make sure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • How was your vacation? Just about all vacation rental management companies and rental websites make it easy for renters to offer comments. If the property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your positive reviews. If anything went wrong, we advise being kind but genuine regarding your experience. The best property owners and managers will work hard to fix the situation.

Iterate

Did they feel about the property? Hopefully everything turned out to be perfect and you're ready to reserve the same property for next year. Otherwise, you have acquired useful experience to aid with another search.
