About this Property

We optimized the home for a low-anxiety family or extended family holiday, with plenty of home preparing. We want your family to have a great holiday on Emerald Isle and come back next year.

Before you rent please understand that this is not a hotel room, this is a duplex designed for a family beach holiday. Our duplex home isn't on the beach but per the view, you can see we are still rather exposed to wind, rain, and sand. We expect and want visitors who actively use the kitchen, who go back and forth to the beach, and understand that there will be a neighboring visiting family on the other side. We do our most great, but we don't claim that the sliders are crystal clear, the home is polished like a hotel room, or kitchen items look brand new.

For any holiday, expectations are key to an enchanting stay. We include an abundance of information and photos so your expectations can match your experience. We adore our home and want you to thoroughly appreciate it. We will gladly answer any questions before you rent.

If you have more than 4 adults or they are unrelated, please explain why in your renting request.

Our appealing beach home is 100 yards away from access to a peaceful beach. Remodeled 4 bed/3 baths in ideal shape. Unwind and savor full decks on both floors with sea sounds and vistas. Walkable grocery, eateries, shopping & mini-golf. We want to know if something interferes with your appreciating your stay. House, refrigerator, and cabinet is supplied with preparing essentials, and linens are PROVIDED!!

Absolutely No Smoking or dogs and cats. We request that visitors do not smoke near the home including the decks because some smoke smell inevitably finds its way into the home and we pride ourselves on including a "smoke-complimentary" experience as much as possible. If you smoke outdoor please try not to disturb renters on the other side of the duplex.

Check-in at 4 pm or after and check-out at 10 am on departure day.
The middle floor has a generous open kitchen and dining area with seating for eight. Two sliding doors to access the porch with table and chairs. One bedroom with 2 twins, and a shared downstairs bathroom. The living area has High-speed internet (30 Down/5 up) and all TVs have Roku attached.

The top floor has 2 queen bedrooms with access to the outdoor space and 1 shared bathroom. The master bedroom has a king bed with a private bath.

Covered parking for 2 cars and parking pad, plus a enormous driveway with abundant room for cars. This is the blue door side of the duplex.

Washer/dryer and propane grille available.

There is a brief walk to the uncrowded Emerald Isle beach. This little group of homes has its own public entrance to the beach with NO car parking. Folks cannot park on our road so the only people that use this access are on this street or close by. The home is at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac. There is essentially no traffic on our street or in front of the home. Most of the close by homes are units but we haven't noticed a lot of noise or seen any big events. Our co-owner of the duplex also has a no smoking, no dogs and cats policy.

Often there is a fabulous tidal pool during low tide. As with any beach (especially one with sandbars and without lifeguards), know what to do in terms of rip tides. On Emerald Isle, we don't get the monster waves you see on the outer banks, but everybody should know about rip tides. We have life jackets for anyone who isn't a great swimmer.

Emerald Isle is bicycle-friendly with bicycle paths along the major roads and simple bicycle rental if you cannot bring your own. Bicycle or walk to the Emerald Plantation Shopping or Food Lion each morning to pick up a coffee or a food item. It's less than a mile away. You can walk comfortably to the pier via the beach (about a mile away). Emerald Isle Woods Park is also about a mile away and has a pretty view of the sound. Walking distance to the water park, cinema, shopping, mini-golf, and eateries. Canoe units and surf shop are also walking distance.

Beach:
Access: On your right, there is public beach access. In the morning and evening, the beach isn't that busy. To get to the beach, turn right out of the home and walk to the end of the street.
Fishing: The Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier is a 1.6-mile drive or a 1-mile walk on the beach to the east. Surf fishing is fashionable especially when the beaches are peaceful.
Equipment: The home has beach chairs and the usual collection of "floaty things" as the children call them. There are two beach carts.

Check-in/check-out: Standard Check-In time is 4 pm and check-out time is 10 am. These hours may be flexible depending on availability. If the home is cleaned and no one is in the home, we'll tell you and you can potentially check-in as early as you like on that day.

Towels: Visitors should bring their own bath and beach towels. There isn't time to turn around the home for the next guest and tidy towels.

Parking: There is covered space for two cars (one behind the other). There is also a parking pad to the right where you can put another car.

Food in the House: We've tried to stock the kitchen with necessary silverware and cookware. If anything is missing, please tell us so we can address the problem. You will also find standard spices, common items (oil), and some standard refrigerator stuff. Thus you will find some items in the refrigerator. These items are left because when we have rented, we have been frustrated that preparing is hard without them and we end up doing additional runs to the grocery store. Please feel complimentary to use anything you find. If you have food you don't want to bring home and won't spoil in the next few weeks, feel complimentary to leave it.

Next Door: Keep in mind that we cannot control the behavior of visitors who rent the other half of the duplex - and they may smoke on their decks. Please tell us if their behavior (smoking or otherwise) interferes with your relishing your stay. Please do not park on their side (the West side) of the building

Food/Grocery:
Food Lion in the close by (0.6 miles, an 11-min. walk) Emerald Plantation Shopping Center. The prices are reasonable. Note that they are swamped on Saturday when new people arrive. And all those folks can quickly empty the new veggies and fruit. To get to Emerald Plantation Shopping, drive out to the main road, turn right and it is about half a mile down on the left.
Lowes Foods (3.2 miles, 11 min drive) - A trip across the bridge; usually not necessary. They will shop for you and do delivery, however.

Money Saving Rental Tips

  • Search for the tourism bureau in the area you want to travel. Most tourism bureaus supply printed travel guide books with special packages for vacation rentals, dining and attractions. Keep an eye out for these books and promotional books, since this allows visitors to experience the same great attractions with a often considerable discounted.
  • Flexible about when you might travel? Off-season rates are usually a fraction of high costs.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be able to get unique discounts. Be sure to check with vacation rental company to see if your visiting gang is eligible for a special offer.
  • Some vacation rentals are essentially designed to serve particular guests, whether it's soundside rentals with weekly fishing pier passes, city-center homes with close access to night life or waterfront homes that feature private windsurfing launching areas. You'll get the best value from a home which most thoroughly satisfies your ideal holiday setting, regardless if it costs a tad bit more.
  • Give thought to purchasing trip insurance along with your rental agreement. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the basic term cost, provides vacationers reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed a result of personal medical-related emergencies or storms, and additionally ensuing extra hurricane evacuation costs or charges, like an unexpected motel stay or additional fuel.

General Rental property Tips & Tricks

Some people are surprised to learn how many rental homes can be found in Beaufort, NC. With such a big selection, guests are sure to select a property which fits their desires and price range.

Rental homes are frequently owner operated or managed by rental management companies. Vacation home management companies leverage scale, technology and practical knowledge to provide effortless operational administration on behalf of the owner..

We have developed a short guide to assist you in getting most out of your vacation rental experience.

Where to find and book the perfect rental property:

Do you believe "Ocean View, EASY beach access, close to shopping!" is the perfect vacation property for your upcoming visit? Read through this checklist to ensure it fits all of your preferences.

The Earlier You Start, The Better The Choices

Beaufort, NC rental properties start booking early. For the greatest selection, begin your planning and search Six-12 months prior to your trip. Holiday gatherings can be a great time for groups to plot their Summer escapes..

Decide on a Community and Date

Consensus can be tough between family, but the moment this challenging part is complete everything will start to drop in place.

Pick a Size

Take a head count. How many beds and bedrooms will you need? Remember that that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in the living area. You'll need to determine what is most appropriate for your party. Specific descriptions of bedrooms and beds are usually available on the internet. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book.

Stick to a Budget

The majority of rentals are advertised with a price range. Determine the price for your selected stay. It might be at the high end of the range. If many groups or family members are sharing the cost, always make sure each group knows their obligations and has agreed to a maximum they are prepared to pay. Normally, one member of the group will be in charge of making the complete reservation and collecting each family member's share.

Let's Discuss Amenities

What property features is your family trying to find? Is a pool reallynecessary?Do you want a vacation property with patio dining area? Will the unit need to be beach front, in the downtown area, or close to wildlife? Does the unit have bicycles and beach toys available during your stay? Gather a list of "needs and wishes" from your group to help narrow your search to the most suitable property.

Accessability

Do individual members of your party have specific needs? If wheel chair access, elevators, pool lifts or other special devices are needed, include that into your search. Most rental listings include a list of amenities.

Take the Dog

Make sure you include your companion! Even though quite a few rentals permit pets, guidelines and fees vary per property. Study your contract thoroughly! Fees may apply when pets are added.

Its Time to Search

Several websites exist to match clients with rental home owners.. Together with Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we advise searching Google for "Beaufort, NC local rentals" for local property management companies. Local vacation home management companies pride themselves on a first-class rental experience.

Negotiate

When you've located the rentalhome of your dreams, double check to make sure your travel dates are available.

Some rental owners will negotiate rates, and some won't. If they are unwilling to budge on a peak-season stay, try getting an additional night. Off-peak weeks will likely be negotiable more often than peak-season..

Read the Contract

Read through the whole contract and be certain you are aware who is responsible for:

  • Electric bills
  • Internet Connectivity
  • Telephone service
  • Pool and hot tub heating
  • Pay Per View Movies
  • Cleaning Service
  • Trash Pickup (and which day?)
  • Maintenance (get a phone number)
  • Check in & Check Out Key Exchange
  • Parking requirements

Be sure that your price includes all taxes and fees.

Trip Insurance

Ensure that you be aware of the cancellation policy prior to booking. Property management companies and home owners commonly offer their clients the choice to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance defends the renter against emergency situations and weather events, It provides peace of mind should tragedy strike.

Reserve your Rental Property

Once you feel you've identified "the one", begin the reservation process. You will probably have to submit a security deposit at time of reservation.

Keep Your Contact's Information

Put the rental manager's contact information into your phone and wallet for quick access to answers throughout your visit.

Congrats! All that is left is making the most of your vacation!

During your Stay

  • Photograph at your arrival. Record the overall condition of the rental property immediately upon arrival. If you find damage, or if fixes are needed call the home manager without delay.
  • If you have any ambiguity about vehicle parking, rules of the property, property access, swimming pool operations, etc... we suggest you ask the rental home manager promptly. A phone call can save several hours of difficulty.
  • Don't forget to respect your nearby neighbors. Many times, adjacent households are lived in by permanent residents. Remember the golden rule and treat others the same way you'd like to be treated by vacationers next to your residence.
  • Ask a local. Local people can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best chicken wings, have a great night out, or the best areas for wildlife?
  • Make sure that you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, exactly like you would at home.

When its Time to Leave

  • Make sure you've packed everything. Check drawers, bath cabinets and wardrobes.
  • Once everything is out, do a walk-through of the property to make sure that no property damage occurred in the course of your stay. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (this may not be possible).. If the property owner is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • How was your getaway? Many property management companies and vacation rental websites permit customers to provide reviews. If your vacation rental and/or property manager was excellent, they will appreciate your praise. If anything went wrong, we suggest being kind but genuine about your experience. The best property owners and managers will try very hard to solve the issue.

Use Your Experience

Hold a meeting with your family. Does everyone want to go back? We hope this guide helped you find a fantastic vacation rental. Maybe the property was not quite right, and you will better understand how to improve your search for the next time.
