How to get the best Emerald Isle vacation home experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Planning and picking your Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • Select vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanside, 4 min walk to beach
    Quiet neighborhood
has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your group.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC destination you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
