Tricks and tips to get the perfect Beaufort, NC rental home experience:

When to visit New Bern & When to reserve a rental home:

  • To get the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for local shops and restaurants.

How to pick the best rental home in New Bern:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Sea Turtle Cottage - walk to everything! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
