Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • To get the best value, shift your family's Beaufort, NC vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the rightvacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. SeaRenity- Best Of Both Waters! Walk to beach AND Bogue sound out back! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
