About this Property

Only six mins. to historic downtown New Bern. The Sanderling is a tiny cabin ideal for a couple or a family of 3 or 4. The cabin is located on a pine grove lot with access to a SHARED private dock on deep water Brices Creek. Brices Creek flows into the Trent and Neuse Rivers and then out to the Atlantic Sea. You are encouraged to use one of our kayaks to savor the water. Other activities include swimming, fishing, crabbing & boating. Don't miss a chance to prepare a s'more over our sizable fire pit.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE KING BED AND TWIN BED ARE IN LOFTS THAT REQUIRE RENTERS TO CLIMB LADDERS TO ACCESS THESE BEDS. THE LADDERS MAY BE DIFFICULT TO NEGOTIATE FOR OLDER ADULTS, PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND SMALL CHILDREN. Also, there are a few other rental units close by that may wish to use the fire pit and SHARED private dock. Please be respectful of other renters so everybody may appreciate their stay. Overall I believe you will find the unit to be very calming. The Tiny cabin is private but visitors must understand that you must climb loft ladders to access the beds and that THE SANDERLING DOES NOT HAVE IT'S OWN PRIVATE BATHROOM. YOU HAVE ACCESS TO A VERY NICE SHARED BATHHOUSE THAT HAS A FULL SIZE REFRIGERATOR, FULL SIZE WASHER AND DRYER, A SINK, A FULL SIZE TOILET AND A FULL SIZE SHOWER. You also have use of a SHARED dock that is behind The Grey Goose, our 3 bedroom 2 bath waterfront rental home, (off to the side of the Grey Goose not directly behind the home) used by The Grey Goose and one other rental cabin. THE SHARED DOCK CLOSES AT 9:00 P.M. OR DARK WHICHEVER COMES EARLIER. QUIET HOURS ARE FROM 9:00 P.M. TO 8:00 A.M. PLEASE RESPECT OTHER GUESTS.

Select your Town and Vacation Week

Consensus can be challenging between members of the family, but once this challenging part is complete everything will begin to fall in place.

Just How Many Bedrooms?

How many family members are planning to share your vacation? Remember that many rental homes list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in the family room. You'll need to determine what is acceptable for your family. Generally rental home listings will outline each of the unit's specific bedrooms and beds.

Exactly What Are You Willing to Shell out?

Will your preferred rental property suit your budget during that prime Summer week? If many individuals or loved ones are sharing the cost, ensure everybody understands their obligation and has approved a maximum they are willing to chip in. Most rental agreements call for a single individual to be liable for the entire reservation.

Rental Home Amenities

What amenities is the group interested in? Is a screened-in deck a necessity? Does the unit need to be beachfront, the downtown area, or near restaurants? Are sheet sets included with the rental contract, or do you need to bring your own? Make a list of "needs and preferences" from your party to help narrow your search to the perfect property.

Special Criteria

Elderly family members will appreciate you for not reserving a stairs-access-only condo on the Third floor. Make sure to remember and inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs..

Go ahead and Take the Dog
