About this Property

  • Sleeps 16
  • 4 Bedrooms
  • 4 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 1800 square feet

Tucked away on a peaceful dead end road mins. from Beaufort's Historic district, this former church fellowship hall is now a 4 bedroom home ideal for a family reunion or modest group gathering. (The attached sanctuary is not rather ready for rental yet). It's only a 15 min. painless walk (8 min. bicycle ride) to the Historic District waterfront shopping/eateries/bars/museums. Our peaceful maritime forest backyard is home to many waterfowl, fish and deer. Swing under the old live oaks or savor our firepit in 1 of 2 seating areas by the creek (400ft of water front)! Appreciate the prevailing sw breeze as it comes across the marsh while watching egrets, herons, ibis and osprey! Sunsets are FANTASTIC! The kayak accessible creek feeds to Town Creek Bay & Gallant's Channel. The old menhaden rr track bed (used by Harvey Smith's menhaden plant, The Fishmeal Company, that used a spur of the Beaufort & Morehead Railroad) runs parallel to the creek right through the middle of our property! This is a hidden getaway in a busy historic coastal town.
Our open floor plan accepts you to have plenty of comfortable room to prepare and entertain, watch tv, play pool or simply lounge and read with tons of very comfortable seating! We have 4 private bedrooms, 2 that each have a bunk bed with a dbl on the bottom and a sgl on top. The other 2 bedrooms have 3 sgl bunk beds each. The sizable, open kitchen is PERFECT for cooking/entertaining. It features a new 5 burner glass top conduction stove with 2 ovens (1 lg. convection oven and 1 sm. regular oven), lg. microwave, fullsize refrigerator as well as a commercial dishwasher. You'll find plenty of cooking supplies and plates, glasses etc. to host a feast! Our wraparound bar seats 10 conveniently. We have 2 bathrooms with 2 toilets each and a separate shower room with 2 showers and a washer/dryer. There is a exceptional outdoor shower as well! The decor consists of decades of our family loving and exploring the area and collecting many unusual artifacts, natural treasures and local art.
The attached sanctuary was constructed in 1933, 8 miles east in the modest fishing village of Bettie. In 1979 The Crystal Coast Sanctuary was created when the sanctuary was picked up and moved here and the fellowship hall was added. Leave your car parked for your stay and instead walk or ride bicycles or paddle your way around town! There is plenty of parking for your boat trailer if needed. Public Beaches are only a short 5-15 min. drive (Radio Island or Atlantic Beach) or go by ferry boat from the Front St. docks to Rachel Carson Nature Preserve (Carrot Island or Sand Dollar Island), Shackleford Banks or Cape Lookout! Hopefully you'll see the famed wild ponies and some dolphin! We live close by and will happily answer any questions about where to go and what to do! We hope you'll appreciate our little slice of heaven as much as we do! PLEASE REMEMBER>>>
Neighborhood peaceful hours are 11pm to 7am. This is our family home, respect our property, DO NOT take anything that doesn't belong to you! If something breaks just let me know:)
Special events/events allowed by permission only. Event fee/security deposit may apply! Must speak with owner before booking/planning. Over 16 people on property NOT allowed without permission.

Tricks and tips to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

When to visit Beaufort & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Beaufort. To find the best value, shift your family's Beaufort, NC vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect rental in Beaufort:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 16 Beds! 3 acre waterfront retreat, easy walk to Beaufort docks has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your contract.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
