Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Book your Beaufort, NC rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Canal-Front Condo with 5' Deep Water Boat Slip, AC, W\/D & Walkable Location has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
