How to get the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Dune Alright, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.

  • If there's an individual Beaufort, NC destination you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
