The town of Beaufort-by-the-Sea has been a favorite for centuries. From long-ago sailors who dropped anchor in Beaufort Inlet after a wearying voyage, to tourists from near and far who long to experience the modest-town vibe of this southern town, to Blackbeard himself, who famously hung out in these parts after pillaging and treasure seeking on the open sea.

This cozy home on Gordon Street, Trails End, is in keeping with the overall appeal of historic Beaufort, with 3 bedrooms, and 1.5 baths; this home has plenty of room to sleep the whole family! Unwind on the porch while sipping your coffee and soaking up the charming surroundings.

Stroll along Taylor’s Creek, and watch for ferry boats, dolphins, and wild horses across the waterway, visit downtown's stores and art galleries, and savor the many delicious eateries, bars and cafes. Life couldn’t be more striking when you happen to be in Beaufort!

Rental home booking tips and tricks:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting and booking your prefectrental:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Quaint Cottage in Beaufort, NC (Trails End) has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC beach you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
