Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation rental:

  • First and foremost, have your family select trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Tryon Palace, Neuse River, Birthplace of Pepsi has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your agreement.

More considerations:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
