Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Beaufort, NC rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Beaufort, NC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking yourrental:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Family beach cottage poised between the ocean, hiking, biking, eateries & shops has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
