New Bern vacation rental home tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose and book a perfectrental home:

  • First, have your group decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Historic Downtown New Bern Condo -2 Bedrooms has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC beach you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Have a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
