Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the perfect vacation home in Emerald Isle:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Just a short walk to the beach! Private pool, elevator & more! has 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, email the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
