Tricks and tips to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing the rightvacation home:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Wahoo Waves, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective.
