Our top Beaufort, NC rental property booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the perfect rental home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Select your vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Charming, warm & tranquil historic downtown New Bern home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
