Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Booking in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by having your group commit to the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Sound Side Studio Apartment with Boat Slip! (Bridgeview on Broad) has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
