Tricks and tips to get the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect rental in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • To start, have your family commit to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Sound Side Studio Apartment with Boat Slip! (Bridgeview on Broad) has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your family.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
