Atlantic Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Book your rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Start by having your family choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. April's Retreat Oceanfront condo in Atlantic Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

More considerations:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. message the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
