Rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the largest rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking yourrental home:

  • Select vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ohana- Oceanview, Pet Friendly Home in Atlantic Beach, NC has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, NC destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
