Strategies to get the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the perfect rental:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sandy Feet Retreat! Wonderful Oceanside Townhome Sunday to Sunday has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
