Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and choosing the rightvacation home:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Toes in the Sand-Oceanfront, Beautifully Remodeled, 1st Floor Unit, Pool! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
