The aptly named Famous Restaurant has built a reputation over the years as New Bern’s go-to destination for delicious Greek and Italian fare, and the eatery still wows the crowds with plenty of budget-friendly and delicious dishes to go around. Famous Restaurant is situated just a little bit west of the heart of the downtown New Bern region, and is nicely easy to reach for visitors and locals throughout this coastal corner of the Inner Banks. The menu is extensive with lots of familiar and more unique items to discover, which includes an assortment of appetizers, salads, Greek specialties, Italian dishes, pizzas, and subs of all varieties. Considering the sheer variety, everyone in the family will find a dish or two to suit their tastes, and visitors can also pick up big platters or pies to go to enjoy at home with ease. Boasting a casual atmosphere that’s nonetheless filled with southern hospitality, Famous Restaurant lives up to its name with lots of reasons to return again and again.
