If you’re going to cast a line in Cedar Point, look no further than Southern Voyage. Your guide for the day is Captain John, bringing aboard years of professional experience.
These waters are known for Amberjack, Flounder, Black Seabass, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Redfish, Black Drum, Bluefish, Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, Bonito, Cobia, and more – with any luck, it won’t take long to hook into some. You’ll target your catch by spinning, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. John also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Capt. John runs a 26’ Pathfinder bay boat with room for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain. It’s recommended to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
How often would you rather be fishing? Go on and turn that day dream into a reality, with Southern Voyage.
