Tips to get the optimal rental experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Beaufort. To book the largest rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
