Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Book your vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing your prefectvacation home:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. A Place at the Beach Unit 167 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
