Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserve your Beaufort, NC vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation home:

  • Start by having your family agree to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beachfront Condo, Amazing Ocean & Sound Views, 3rd Floor Southwinds, 2 Pools! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
