Tips to get the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. To book the largest rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • First, have your family decide on trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful private beach house with access to sound has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
