Strategies to get the best vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Beaufort, NC vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Decks Ahoy, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 9 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, call the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
