Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick your prefect Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Dolphin View East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
