Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best rental home in Emerald Isle:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Indigo Breeze, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
