Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, change your family's Beaufort, NC vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Planning and choosing the rightvacation home:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Isle Stay Awhile, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC attraction you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
