Rental booking tips and tricks:

Getting the best value:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the best vacation rental in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 3 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
