Tricks and tips to get the perfect New Bern vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • To get the best value, shift your family's Beaufort, NC vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and choosing the right Beaufort, NC rental:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 4 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your group.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC attraction you are enamored with, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
