Tricks and tips to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • To get the best value, consider changing your family's Beaufort, NC vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Newly renovated condo with pool access! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
