Tips to get the best Beaufort, NC rental home experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserve your Beaufort, NC rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Compass Pointe, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC beach you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
