Strategies to get the perfect Beaufort, NC rental experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Emerald Isle Oceanfront Home with Private Pool and Dog-friendly! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
