Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • First, have your group agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Nuthin But Sun, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
