Strategies to get the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the Beaufort, NC area:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront and dog-friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
