- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.

Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Dogs OK! 3BR\/Bonus Room - Ocean Front! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
