How to book the best rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to select the perfect rental home in New Bern:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Point on Pollock - Brewery Row - Brim of Downtown has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your trip.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, NC beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
