Finding the best rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is high season in Beaufort. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Beaufort, NC attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
