Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Second row, easy beach access, views and a pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
