Tips to get the very best rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Second row, easy beach access, views and a pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, NC attraction you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
