Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

When to go & When to book:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective.
