Tips to get the perfect Beaufort, NC rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the rightvacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Spacious 2nd row half duplex in Emerald Isle has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
