How to find the best vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick the perfectrental:

  • Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spacious oceanfront home with large deck, beach access, grill, & W\/D has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
