About this Property

  • Sleeps 14
  • 7 Bedrooms
  • 5 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 3000 square feet

Our family home, designed by my grandmother, has been my family's favorite place to go for more than 50 years. It has one purpose--to allow a sizable group of people to stay under one roof and have a great time at the beach. The bedrooms are modest so that the common areas can be enormous. It just feels right and comfortable and homey. The details:

Upstairs level (beach level):
Turquoise bedroom, 1 king bed, 1 half bath
Yellow bedroom, 1 double and 1 twin, 1 half bath
Green bedroom, 2 twins, 1 semi-attached full bath

Downstairs (road level):
Left bedroom, 2 twins, 1 sink, and 1 half bath down the hall
Right bedroom, 2 twins, 1 half bath
Back bedroom, 1 king, 1 twin, and 1 half bath
Former maid's quarters, 2 twins separated by a divider (very modest rooms)

2 standalone showers downstairs shared by everybody in the home
The laundry room is beside one of the showers.

The kitchen is well supplied with cookware, perhaps overly well outfitted.

The downstairs has a common area with a TV if you need to escape.

Towel and complete linen service is supplied.

The crown jewels of the home:
The common area upstairs with dining, TV, and conversation and reading area (about 12'x 36')
The front deck with a third of the deck shaded by an upper deck sunbathing and viewing area (about 12'x45')

If you want to be alone, you can find a nook to be by yourself. If you want to be with people, you can be with people.

The beach is a 100 foot walk down the boardwalk, down the stairs, and 50 feet through the dunes. the entire property is kept as natural as possible.

How to get the best vacation rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and picking the perfectrental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group select trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Third generation house has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
