Tricks and tips to get the perfect Beaufort, NC rental experience:

When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. To get the best vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to select the perfect vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Temple Cottage - Walking distance to downtown has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
