Vacation rental tips and tricks:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking a perfectrental:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Dog Friendly Oceanside Home Near Public Beach Ramp at Atlantic Beach, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
